Our Coconut Chips, also known as coconut flakes, have not been toasted or sweetened. Coconut is one of those plants that every part of it has a use, the seed contains, not only coconut water, but also the coconut flesh (or meat) which can be used to produce desiccated coconut, coconut milk or coconut cream– the husks and leaves of coconuts can be used as material to make a variety of products for furnishing and decorating. A coconut is actually a drupe & not as is a general misconception a Nut (In botany, a drupe is an indehiscent fruit in which an outer fleshy part or skin surrounds a single shell of hardened endocarp seed inside). Mature coconuts can be used as seed nuts or processed for oil, charcoal can be from the hard shell, and coir from the fibrous husk.
Coconut chips are extremely versatile and can be a great addition to a salad, a tasty addition to rice or a curry or just open the bag and have a handful.
