BLACK ONION SEEDS (NIGELLA SEEDS)
Pack Size: 35g
Black Onion Seeds, also known by a range of different names such as Nigella or Kalonji seeds. Despite their name, these black triangle-shaped seeds do not come from onions but from the Fennel Flower making these seeds a member of the buttercup family.
These seeds have a slightly bitter taste with a unique Nutty, earthy, peppery taste with a crunchy texture. We recommend dry roasting or microwaving to unlock a more profound taste.
Due to its unique taste, the Black onion seeds can be used in a wide range of different dishes to bring a unique flavour. We personally recommend using the seeds in vegetable dishes, with sweet vegetables such as carrots and parsnips. Across the world, it is used as a spice on bread, such as naan bread. We suggest trying it with Rice, salad dressing, and egg dishes.
